CNN Graphics Flub: McCain 'Officially Wins Democratic Nomination'

-By Warner Todd Huston

For a Thursday funny, the grown-ups at CNN must have been napping when they allowed a half informed intern to type up their screen graphic on Wednesday. As the CNN "Sky View" camera roamed the audience during the Republican Convention the screen graphic helpfully informed the viewer that McCain "Officially wins Democratic Nomination."

Psst, CNN. It's McCain wins the Republican nomination. Just tryin' to help ya out, there.

BREAKING: Nat'l Enquirer To Smear Palin With Sex Affair Claims

-By Warner Todd Huston

And the smear train rolls onward... now the National Enquirer is fit to publish a front pager claiming that Governor Sarah Palin has had a sexual affair outside of her marriage to husband Todd Palin. This time, the McCain campaign is jumping out ahead of the story and issuing a strongly worded press release.

“The smearing of the Palin family must end. The allegations contained on the cover of the National Enquirer insinuating that Gov. Palin had an extramarital affair are categorically false. It is a vicious lie.”

“The efforts of the media and tabloids to destroy this fine and accomplished public servant are a disgrace. The American people will reject it.”

“Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin look forward to discussing the issues that Americans care about, fixing broken government, creating jobs, making our country energy independent and securing the peace for the next generation by bringing the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to a victorious end,”

“Legal action will be considered with regard to this disgraceful smear.”

This feeding frenzy against a female candidate is unprecedented and disgusting.

More news to follow.

Media's Palin Derangement Syndrome: Suddenly, Old Media Thinks They are DNA Technicians

-By Warner Todd Huston

John McCain's campaign spokesman is reporting that the media has deluged the campaign with demands that it provide DNA samples to "prove" that baby Trig is the true offspring of vice presidential candidate Governor Sarah Palin. Imagine the effrontery of this demand? Imagine the ignorance and outrageousness of this attack that Governor Palin is receiving at the hands of the Old Media? Worse, realize that this storm has been raised by gutter websites like DailyKos and the DemocraticUnderground! The media is not only indulging in the lowest of attacks they are allowing the most extreme, unhinged of the far left to dictate the direction of their coverage. The Old Media are worse than dancing puppets for the hatemongers on the left.

The Washington Post's Howard Kurtz reported that McCain campaign manager Steve Schmidt is being buried under an avalanche of these unseemly demands for Palin's DNA by the media establishment.

In an extraordinary and emotional interview, Steve Schmidt said his campaign feels "under siege" by wave after wave of news inquiries that have questioned whether Palin is really the mother of a 4-month-old baby, whether her amniotic fluid had been tested and whether she would submit to a DNA test to establish the child's parentage.

Imagine the temerity of these media scavengers?

Even Kurtz admits that hate sites like DailyKos is leading the media around by the nose.

The intensity of media inquiries hit a new level after an anonymous blogger on the liberal Web site Daily Kos last weekend charged that McCain's running mate is actually the grandmother of Trig Palin, the 4-month-old baby born with Down syndrome, and that the real mother is her daughter, 17-year-old Bristol Palin. That led to mainstream media inquiries, which prompted the McCain camp to disclose in a statement Monday that Bristol is five months pregnant and plans to have the baby and marry the teenage father.

These disgusting allegations were proven completely false on the same day that the ignorati at the DailyKos raised them. Dozens of photos were produced that proved that Palin was pregnant and eyewitness accounts were brought forward cooberating the photos. Yet the mean spiritedness of the press corps pressed onward anyway with these hateful attacks on a mother of a special needs child, a baby with Down Syndrome and a teenaged girl.

And now they have the gall to demand DNA?

It causes me, at least, to ask some salient questions. WHY didn't the press ramp up their demands for DNA during those fateful days when the Blue Dress filled with Bill Clinton's DNA was all the topic of the news? Why have they not been demanding DNA evidence to prove or disprove John Edward's is or isn't the father of the Rielle Hunter's baby? They don't seem all so interested in DNA in those cases, do they?

The Old Media double standard is in full effect here, folks. Any tiny line of smear can be used freely to destroy a Republican and their family members -- including children. But when it comes to liberals... why, it's hands off, it's all about safeguarding a candidate's privacy, sex isn't a topic, and leave the candidate's kids alone!

To be a journalist is the most shameful profession on earth at this point. And they just keep sinking lower and lower.

Unreported: Montana Governor's 'Senior Counsel' Not Licensed to Practice Law in State! (Democrat, of Course)

-By Warner Todd Huston

There is an ethics squabble going on in Montana perpetrated by the senior counsel to the Democrat Governor of Montana, Brian Schweitzer. It has been revealed that the Governor's "senior counsel," a man named Eric Stern, has been caught trying to "back-door" the judge in a case in which he is involved on behalf of Governor Schweitzer. The ethics violation is bad enough, but it has also been discovered that, even though he is claimed to be an attorney and the Governor's senior counsel, Eric Stern, is not licensed to practice law in the state of Montana. This seems to say that Eric Stern is practicing law without a license, doesn’t it? Strangely, the media have not bothered to report this most important fact.

According to reports, Eric Stern "a senior official in the governor's administration" improperly contacted the commissioner of political practices "outside of official proceedings in an ongoing ethics case." In effect, Stern is accused of trying to "back-door" the judge by discussing the case outside of official proceedings, an extremely blatant ethics violation.

Commissioner Dennis Unsworth, who acts like a judge in the proceedings, said he was contacted by Gov. Brian Schweitzer's senior counsel, Eric Stern.

The conversations are not allowed outside official proceedings, according to a lawyer for the state Republican Party, who is asking for a hearing to determine what was said.

Like I said, the violation of ethical conduct by Governor Schweitzer's senior counsel is bad enough, but some bloggers have discovered something that is even more disturbing about Stern: he isn't licensed to practice law in the state of Montana.

Carol Minjares of Missoula, Montana first found out on August 19 that the Governor's senior counsel, a man who holds forth in the Governor's legal proceedings as an official operative and representative of the Governor, is not licensed to practice law in the state.

I called the Montana Bar and found out he is not licensed to practice in this state. Was he ever licensed, and if so where? If not, how can he be an attorney without a license?

How is it that the Governor's senior counsel can interact with official legal cases on behalf of the Governor is not even licensed to practice law? Worse, why have the Old Media throughout the state not investigated this and confronted the Governor about this strange status?

Perhaps because the Governor is a Democrat?

For more information, Gregg Smith from Electric City Weblog has several in depth reports on the legal implications of senior counsel Eric Stern's ethics violations. (Here and here)

Eric Stern's bio on the Governor's official website:

Eric Stern - Energy Specialist and Senior Counsel to the Governor

Eric Stern was Schweitzer's campaign manager and is an attorney and business consultant. He is a native of Teaneck, NJ, and attended Connecticut College and Columbia Law School. He worked after college at CNN in Atlanta, and then went on to serve in the Clinton Administration as a political aide to the Vice President of the United States, directing the Vice President's international and political trips; and also as a policy aide to the U.S. Secretary of Education, overseeing the political elements of important education reforms of the 1990s. He also worked on the national staff of three presidential campaigns. Stern moved to Bozeman, Montana in 2001 to do non-profit legal and environmental work, and business consulting. Prior to taking over Schweitzer's campaign, Stern directed the bid by Mexico to lure a Major League Baseball franchise, the Montreal Expos, to the city of Monterrey.

Stern is sure presented as an attorney! Yet, no license? And no news reports of the fact?

Seems quite odd, doesn't it?

More Milwaukee Voter Fraud... Guess What Party?

-By Warner Todd Huston

Milwaukee has discovered some more voter fraud with 10 more voter registration workers are being investigated by Wisconsin authorities. Fittingly, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel covered the story in its paper on August 29. Unfittingly, the Journal Sentinel forgot one, tiny aspect of the story... that the voter fraud was perpetrated by Democrats. In fact, one of the organizations, ACORN, is intimately linked with Barack Obama.

Milwaukee’s top election official said Thursday she plans to seek criminal investigations of 10 more voter registration workers, including two accused of offering gifts to sign up voters.

So, what we have here is an Old Media story about voter fraud where the salient fact that the fraud is being committed by Democrats and Democrat organizations is somehow absent from the story. What a surprise, eh?

Voter bribery, voter fraud, workers misrepresenting themselves with false driver's license numbers, fake Social Security numbers, there's lots of details in the story. Yet, the word Democrat never appears once in the story.

So, who was responsible for all this fraudulent registration?

All the workers were paid by two organizations running voter registration drives, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now and the Community Voters Project. Overall, 37 of the suspect workers were on the ACORN payroll, 11 were paid by the voters project and it’s not clear who employed the other one.

For those of you unaware, ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) is a far left group that is intimately linked with Barack Obama since his early days in the corrupt Chicago, Daley Democrat political machine. ACORN has given Obama much financial support over the last two decades. ACORN is also big on furthering the unAmerican thuggery of unions all across the nation. And that means they are strictly a Democrat organization... not that the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel wants anyone to know that.

So, what are the charges here?

Among the latest group, two ACORN workers are accused of offering pre-paid gasoline cards or restaurant gift cards to people in exchange for signing up to vote.

Edman said she wants Landgraf to look into whether the workers violated a state law that forbids offering cash or gifts to sway voters.

Eight voter project workers are suspected of making up information on voter applications, Edman said.

Among the workers previously referred to Landgraf, two are accused of submitting cards for dead voters.

Others appear to have submitted cards for people who said they never filled out an application or who were already registered, signed cards themselves, or falsified driver’s license numbers.

That's quite a laundry list. And, realize, this sort of Democrat fraud is happening all across the country in every major city. And it's all perpetrated by Democrats. Someone should pass this info on to the Journal Sentinel.

Sad Passing of a Hollywood Icon

-By Warner Todd Huston

On Monday, voice artist Don LaFontaine died. You may not know his name but you absolutely have heard his work. Think of yourself settling into a movie. The theater goes dark. The trailers begin. Dramatic music fills the room and the mellifluous sound of a baritone voice emerges to coo: "In a world where..."

That's right, the movie trailer guy. He has given the dramatic reading for over 5000 movie trailers over the decades. His voice is now stilled. By all accounts he was one of the truly nice guys in Hollywood, too. No ego trip, full of mirth and good humor.

Here is a Geico commercial he did so you can hear and see him...

And here is a nice little video about his work...

RIP, Don... In a world where there is no Don LaFontaine... will we ever enjoy movie trailers as much again?

NBC's Andrea Mitchell: Only Hillary's Uneducated Voters will Vote For Sarah Palin

-By Warner Todd Huston

**Video Below the Fold**

Tom Brokaw's Meet the Press this week was as prosaic as ever, but for one little line uttered by the increasingly partisan Andrea Mitchell. In a discussion about the McCain VP pick of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, guest Doris Kerns Goodwin, plagiarist/historian, said that the choice of Palin is a "very strange choice," showing how little she bothered to even think about the facts. But the most outrageous analysis came from Mitchell who said that only uneducated, female voters will be drawn to Sarah Palin, not those smart, college educated ones.

At about 5:57 into this clip Andrea Mitchell was brought onto Meet the Press with Goodwin, David Gregory and host Tom Brokaw to tell us all that Sarah Palin will only appeal to uneducated women, not educated ones.

After Brokaw asked Mitchell what this Palin pick means to Hillary voters, we find that Mitchell took the occasion to attack instead of answer the question with serious analysis.

Transcript:(My emphasis)

Brokaw: ...There are other Republicans who are saying, listen we'll be able to pull those Hillary Clinton voters who are not happy the way Obama treated her across the line. What are the chances of that Andrea?

Mitchel: Well, they think now that they have a story. They have a story of a working mom, she is a colorful character, an Annie Oakley... you know, Annie get your gun. They love her story, but when she tried to talk about Hillary Clinton in Pennsylvania, in western Pennsylvania, yesterday at a rally with conservative Republican voters, Hillary Clinton was booed. So, she can use the Hillary Clinton and Geraldine Ferraro analogy if she wants to in interviews, she cannot use that at Republican rallies.

She is not appealing to the same women who were really voting or supporting Hillary Clinton on ideological issues but they think that they can peel off some of these working class women, not college educated, who, the blue collar women who were voting for Hillary Clinton and may be more conservative on social causes.

So, only the stupid, uneducated, working class ninnies will be somehow fooled into voting for the McCain/Palin ticket, Andrea? Them thar smart, educated, upper class women are too smart for that? Is that what we are saying here, Andrea?

But, notice how Mitchell didn't just answer Brokaw's question but did her best to gig at the GOP for their "booing" of Hillary Clinton? Brokaw asked about Clinton voters crossing the aisle to vote McCain because of his VP pick, he did NOT ask anything about how traditional conservative voters react to mention of Hillary Clinton's name at rallies. Further, no one should expect conservatives to have any different reaction to Clinton now that she is a loser than they've ever had. So, Mitchell's attempt to make Republicans look mean because they booed Clinton's name was gratuitous needling on her part. Of course conservatives are going to boo Hillary, but, Andrea, THAT wasn't the subject under discussion!

So, on top of calling any women who might vote for McCain because of the addition of Sarah Palin to the ticket uneducated, Mitchell needlessly strayed off topic to search for some way to make Republicans look mean.

Yep, that's the partisan hack Mitchell we have become so used to!

Obama's Scumbag 'Spiritual Mentor' Strikes Again, Wright's Newest Wrong Comment

-By Warner Todd Huston

They call this creep a "Reverend." In truth he is an America hating, scumbag and his latest off-color comment proves that he is as far as being a man of Christian religion as one can be.

At the Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church in Houston, Texas on Sept. 1, The "Reverend" Wright, Barack Obama's "spiritual mentor," was talking about what will happen in the White House if Barack wins this election.

"This ordinary boy just might be the first president in the history of the United States to have a black woman sleeping at 1600 Pennsylvania legally."

This is the same so-called reverend that said that God should "damn America" in a pseudo "sermon" that was delivered as Obama and his family sat gazing happily up to him from the audience in the hatemongering church in Chicago they belonged to for over 20 years.

This is the sort of creep that Obama surrounds himself with. Terrorists, haters, and anti-Americans are his closest allies and advisors.

How a man as unAmerican as Barack Obama has gotten this close to the presidency of the US is a crime.

Sick of Journalists That Don't Stand for the Nat'l Anthem

-By Warner Todd Huston

Many Americans have a negative image of journalists and it is one that is growing in believability and acceptance every day, especially as the New Media begins to attract more and more attention from the American people. This image of the aloof, even anti-American, journalist is becoming rote with more people all the time. Sadly, the journalists themselves seem to be uninterested in countering this appalling public image, imagining themselves above being considered mere Americans. On this subject, a recent op ed by Mark Fitzgerald of Editor & Publisher warns journalists that perception is often truth and that the penchant that journalists have for not standing proudly and patriotically during the National Anthem does not help their image any -- good advice that will be roundly ignored by journalists the country over.

Fitzgerald starts off with a bit of an untruth of his own, though I am not accusing him of knowingly perpetrating a falsehood. Saying that "There's no cheering in the press box," Fitzgerald goes on to describe journalists are perennially uninvolved and aloof from the subject of which they report. At some level this may be correct. Certainly when journalists, notoriously left-wing, cover conservatives and Republicans there is no cheering. But, as the recent example during the 2008 National Democratic Convention shows, when it is left-wing, journalists have no problem at all cheering. One need not forget the fawning the media lovingly handed to Bill Clinton to prove the cheerleading they are apt to, either.

Still, that quibble aside, Fitzgerald has a great point about how the unpatriotic attitude of journalists damages their profile. Worse, it makes people doubt journalist's work simply because their word isn't trusted not to be coming from an anti-American perspective.

In general, Fitzgerald finds the reticence for cheering or showing emotion while covering a story a good thing, as do I. But he finds on instance of this blasé act "irritating." He discovered this annoyance during the political conventions every four years.

I'm talking about the press corps' irritating habit of remaining seated during the playing of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the start of each night's session.

I've only covered a couple of conventions from the inside of the hall, but inevitably, the vast majority of reporters in the press boxes remained seated as the national anthem is played. I cringed every time I saw this dopey tradition followed.

Fitzgerald has certainly stumbled upon a truism with this observance, though he seems confused by it just the same.

I'm not entirely sure what accounts for this rude behavior, this pretense that being a journalist somehow exempts us from acting as Americans when [sic] for this brief ritual.

(Note: I think he meant "even" instead of "when." I am sure "when" is a typo.)

Fitzgerald, naturally not wishing to think ill of his fellows, though, is sure that this refusal to display a patriotic reaction to the National Anthem does not reflect a "lack of patriotism in the press." However, that might seem rather more like unsupportable, wishful thinking instead of real truth.

Finally, indulging in some pointless snarking, Fitzgerald scolds his comrades in ink as well as the last three presidents -- on second thought it was probably a slam on presidents just to make his pals seem more at ease with his criticism.

If we can rise for the likes of the past three Occupants in Chief, who each in his way sorely tested the respect due the presidency, then surely we can stand for the flag of our fathers and "The Star-Spangled Banner."

I have news for you Mr. Fitzgerald. The past 40 years of journalism has "sorely tested" the respect the American public have for journalists far more than it has taxed its respect for any president. Collectively, far more Americans distrust the press than they do presidents. Petulantly remaining seated during the National Anthem is no aberrant display of the Press Corps' anti-Americanism. It is part and parcel of it.

Still, good on you Mr. Fitzgerald for scolding your pals just the same.

Reuters Misleading Headline Winner of the Day

-By Warner Todd Huston

Reuters gets the award for the most misleading headline of the day with its Aug 28 story making it seem as if unemployment has wildly increased in New York State -- even calling it a "crisis" -- when there was really only a small increase. The headline would cause the casual reader to assume that the world is falling apart concerning employment rates and on top of that the badly worded headline also feeds into the Bush-ruined-the-economy meme. And we know how Reuters is always looking to smear President Bush whenever it can. Further, Reuters cites the work of the Fiscal Policy Institute without identifying it as a left leaning think tank.

Reuters headlines its New York employment piece Unemployment leaps over 20 percent in 25 New York counties. It is a shocking headline, to be sure, screaming that unemployment "leaps 20 percent." Such a wild headline would certainly cause a casual reader to assume that overall unemployment has risen by 20 to 25 percent. Contrary to the scaremongering of the headline, New York's unemployment did not "leap 20 percent" in over all numbers at all. In fact, the over all unemployment of the state has only gone up by .2 percent, from 5.2 in June to 5.4 in July. That is hardly a number to spark a "Crisis."

The report is misleading on several counts.

The ranks of unemployed workers soared more than 20 percent in 25 New York counties in the first half of 2008, even in wealthy suburbs around New York City such as Westchester and Nassau, a report said Thursday.

Then the Reuters piece reports on a press release by a group called the Fiscal Policy Institute that warns, "As New York's policy makers address the large budget gaps, it is imperative that budget actions not worsen the economy and exacerbate the unemployment crisis."

The statistics under discussion focuses on New York City and tires to claim that the economy is in "crisis" mode, but even the reported numbers for the City's five boroughs doesn't show any major "crisis."

  • NEW YORK CITY - July 2008:5.4; June 2008:5.3; July 2007:5.8
  • BRONX - July 2008:7.2; June 2008:7.0; July 2007:7.8
  • KINGS - July 2008:5.9; June 2008:5.6; July 2007:6.4
  • NEW YORK - July 2008:4.6; June 2008:4.6; July 2007:5.0
  • QUEENS - July 2008:4.8; June 2008:4.7; July 2007:5.1
  • RICHMOND - July 2008:5.2; June 2008:4.8; July 2007:5.6

These numbers hardly scream crisis. Especially when full employment has traditionally been considered an unemployment rate of 5 percent.

Even more misleadingly, Reuters does not explain that the FPI is a left leaning, big government advocating think tank with board members that previously worked for government agencies under big spending liberal politicians, redistributionist advocacy groups, and trade unions. Hardly the sort of folks that one could trust to report on economic matters.

Now, it is true that New York's economy has taken a small hit of late. But the alarmism with which this Reuters story is written wildly overstates the truth. Then add the news that the economy has just been found to have gotten a boost with the GDP having a much better growth than assumed earlier and we get more evidence of Reuters chicken-Little style of reporting. Today it was reported that the U.S. gross domestic product grew by 3.3% instead of the less rosy estimate of 1.9% previously estimated.

So, congratulations to Reuters for the most misleading headline of the day.

Obama's Letter Promoting Elimination of Democracy

-By Warner Todd Huston

Any speculation that Barack Obama will suddenly find it in his heart to accept ages old democratic practices can be put to rest with a letter he recently wrote urging a company to eliminate the secret ballot of workers being solicited for union membership.

The Baker City Herald has the story of Beef Northwest, a food service company, that is undergoing union agitation. Employees of Beef Northwest are being urged to join the United Farm Workers union and Obama sent a letter in support of that initiative.

Some of the employees that want the union openly signed cards saying they want the union and want to eschew a secret ballot. Beef Northwest is maintaining that the "card check" vote is not legitimate and wants a secret ballot taken. For his part, Obama sent a letter against the ages old democratic process of the secret ballot.

Obama's letter is dated Aug. 4, two days after the Oregon Farm Worker Ministry group, picketed a Whole Foods Market in the Portland area to put pressure on Beef Northwest owners to accept the cards collected by union organizers and to negotiate a union contract.

...Davies said he sees the Obama letter as an important document revealing the candidate's willingness to substitute union cards for a secret ballot vote.

Obama stands against one of the oldest democratic practices in history; the secret ballot.

We are in for major anti-democratic actions by government if this dangerous man becomes president.

NewsVine Suspends My Account Over Left's Palin Lies

-By Warner Todd Huston

Looks like the extremist, lefties that run NewsVine can't take the truth. My last two posts on the Seattle based website were about the lies being spread by Alan Colmes, Democraticunderground.com and DailyKos that Sarah Palin "faked" her pregnancy.

I exposed these lies for what they are and what does NewsVine do? Cancels my account to prevent the truth form getting out there. You may read the EXACT posts that I made mirrored on PubliusForum.com Here and Here. If you do, you'll see that these posts do not fit the bill of outrageousness or profanity. It's just that the NewsVine people couldn't stand to have leftist lies exposed.

I have only had a NewsVine account for a relatively short time, but I knew that they wouldn't be able to stand honest debate for the conservative side of the issue long. Just as I always knew they would, I was summarily cancelled.

Naturally, there was never a single email from the NewsVine staff to me of any "warnings," nor was there ever a hint of trouble between what I was posting and the NewsVine staff.

Certainly some of the hatemongering posters didn't like my conservative point of view, and that is to be expected for the extremist site that it is. But, the least one would have thought they'd have done is send me an email with a "warning" of some sort.

But, then, THAT would have augered toward their legitimate desires for open debate. And THAT is not what they wanted. They want homogeny of left-wing purpose. Like all leftists, they are liars and hypocrites.

And it really wasn't like I was being profane or mean spirited or anything. After all, every post I made on NewsVine also appeared on RedState, NewsBusters and my own PubliusForum.com. I never once posted anything different or special on NewsVine.

No, the truth of the matter is, NewsVine ONLY wants extreme leftist participants. That is it. Anyway, it was amusing while it lasted, but I knew they couldn't allow a conservative to post there long. After all, they aren't really Americans there.

Stooping to Lowest Level: Democratic Claim of Palin's 'Faked Pregnancy' Gaining Steam

-By Warner Todd Huston

**Update: TV's Alan Colmes Says Palin's Neglect Caused Down's Syndrome Birth Stress!!**

**Update #2 Below the Fold- Pregnancy Confirmed**

**Update #3- Michael Moore and Media Take Notice**

**Update #4- London Times Now Repeats Fake Pregnancy Claim**

**Update #5- CTV News Now Repeats Fake Pregnancy Claim**

As I reported earlier, the scurrilous claim that McCain vice presidential pick Governor Sarah Palin faked her pregnancy with a Down's Syndrome child is beginning to spread among the lowest of the nutrooters. Now, the unhinged, smear site DemocraticUnderground.com has boosted this lie to their front pages. Naturally, since these hate sites feed into each other, the spurious source of the DU story is another DailyKos story like the one I earlier reported upon.

Of course, this whole meme is nothing but a lie. Are we expected to believe an entire state, its hospitals, doctors and media establishment helped cover up this pregnancy story? And they all did this for a Republican, to boot? It makes little logical sense to believe a word of this black helicopter conspiracy theory. Next thing we know, the Kossacks and DUers are going to expect us to believe that Big Foot and some gray aliens were the attendants at the birth!

But, here is the thing. This hateful story about the birth of a child with Down's Syndrome is exactly the sort of lowest, gutter ideas that float through the empty space in the voluminous heads of our friends at the lowest depths of the Democratic Party and the lefty movement. There are some sick, sick people over there and stories like this prove it.

Pile this on top of the low blow from TV's Alan Colmes who claims that Palin didn't practice proper prenatal care before she had the baby with Down's Syndrome, blaming the Mother for her disabled child. Well, the lefties don't know a low road they won't take. (Colmes' site has crashed right now, but this is the address if it ever comes back: http://www.alan.com/2008/08/30/did-palin-take-proper-pre-natal-care/)

Now, let's take a looks at some of the replies on the DU garbage thread:

WARNING -- As is common on leftist sites, some of the language that follows is profane. (Not to mention filled with bad spelling and grammar)

bobd0: It's not an "accusation" and it isn't "awful" Teenagers get pregnant. It isn't awful. It just happens. It happens all the time. I'm not making accusations. I'm just looking at all the angles. You know, like those Republicans do. Look at that "breakaway" sect of Mormons in Texas. Who would have thought that sort of thing was going on in their backyard? And we're talking Alaska here. Those long winters must get very boring. And Sarah is all for drilling in Alaska

DaLittle Kitty: That IS a little basta_d christian grandchild... WITHOUT QUESTION! IGHT! It's Da LYING STUPID! Da LYING!!! AllCFhristianed Out +LY'N DER a ss OFF! Why Was this same standard of which you speak NOT in play re: JOHN EDWARDS? The bulsh_te is unbelievable!!!!

Demeter: It Doesn't Have to Be an Issue--Just a Rumor or Legend on the Internet. Like Obama is a Muslim==tit for tat.

enough already: Screw 'em all! It's time we started fighting back. We always show up at gun fights with knives. Knock Palin's teeth out on this one. No backing down, no mercy.

marylanddem: I think this IS a an important issue. And commend Daily Kos for focusing on it. f_ck Sarah Palin if she's the lying hypocrite she appears to be, the sooner this sh_t hits the fan the better.

progressivebydesign: How can she be the arbiter of all things HOLY and PURE if her daughter gets knocked up?? How would that play in Palin's little circle of believers? Guess that shoots her 'abstinence only' stance, doesn't it?

scarface2004: f_ck that right wing piece of sh_t..if it belonged to her daughter and she covered it up to avoid embarrasment then f_ck that piece of sh_t! republicans have asked for this...and now they are gonna get it. this is DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND goddammit, not mr rogers neighborhood!! its time to f_ck them over with every rumor speculation bald faced lie whatever. reap what you sow a ssholes!!

Well, there's more, of course, many more that are even more profane. Granted there are a few somewhat saner souls saying that they should leave this horrible story alone. But they are being widely abused and ignored.

This is the sort of hate that has developed into a pathology for the far left, folks. As distasteful as it is, we need to be aware of how low they will go.

Update #2- One Woman's Eyewitness Account of Pregnant Palin

All the speculation on whether Governor Palin was pregnant is easily put to rest by the eyewitness account of Elizabeth Eubanks from April 29 of this year. Eubanks was in an airport in Fairbanks waiting for a flight when she unexpectedly saw Governor Palin in the airport also waiting for a flight.

Eubanks reports that she found Palin to be a wonderful person.

Of course I had to check out the “Hottest Governor in the US” and quickly turned to see her pregnant (she has since had her baby) with bags and daughter in tote. Then it struck me as odd. Why is the Governor of Alaska in the airport and preparing to get onto my commercial flight?

Well, why WAS the Governor waiting for a commercial flight? It seems as a cost cutting measure, Governor Palin sold the state jet on Ebay for 2.1 million dollars.

So, not only was she pregnant despite the claim of the jackasses in the Democratic Party, but we get to see another example of how fiscally responsible she is! Go ON with your bad self, Governor Palin!

**Update #3- Michael Moore and Media Take Notice**

The "faked pregnancy" charge is spreading. Perhaps the Old Media are beginning to pick this up as is evident with a Knoxville News blog post by Katie Allison Granju.

Even smear merchant Michael Moore is touting the story with a headline demanding Gov. Palin to "Show us DNA" to prove her son's provenance.

The question is, will the Old Media take up this story from the extremist hatemongers of the leftist fringe like Marcos Moulitsas and Michael Moore? Time will tell and we'll keep monitoring.

**Update #4- London Times Now Repeats Fake Pregnancy Claim**

And it keeps growing. Now the London Times is throwing out this lie in an August 31 story.

If Mrs Palin, a conservative mother of five, ever doubted that landing on a national presidential ticket would open her to the harshest of spotlights and smear tactics, she also awoke yesterday to utterly unfounded internet rumours that her fifth child, born in April with Down’s Syndrome, was actually her 17-year-old daughter’s.

How far will the despicable story go? We are on the case.

**Update #5- CTV News Now Repeats Fake Pregnancy Claim**

More and more news outlets are noticing this putrid attack. CTV News posted a brief bit about the sickening DailyKos attack in its "Top Stories" section. Unfortunately the news outlet didn't mention Kos by name as they should have.

It's the type of scrutiny that the McCain camp will increasingly see as the media catches up on the background of the surprise choice.

But it's nothing compared to the online smear campaign that has begun against Palin.

The most-vicious, from the left-leaning Daily Kos, contains completely unsubstantiated rumours about her recent pregnancy.

The more legs this story gets, I think the worse it will turn out for the left. They look very, very bad with this story. I feel it will drive voters to Sarah Palin's side, so I hope the Old Media and New will really focus on this lie and vicious attack on a Down Syndrome child, new Mother and innocent teenaged girl.
