The US is trailing in education. What will you do?
-I'll tell you why this is happening: UNIONS! Obama is a union supporter and THAT cannot help get our education system fixed. Unions out of education will be the best first step there.
-Obama proposes big spending. Recruit new teachers, etc. Make college affordable? (I say how about get govt subsidies OUT of colleges. That will make college costs go down.)
-McCain says education is civil rights issue of 21st century. Bring sup competition in schools. Charter schools, merit pay for teachers. Eliminate bad teachers. Good stuff there.McCain says throwing money at the problem is NOT the automatic fix. Good comment there. Mentions that some of the worst schools in America have some of the highest per student funds available.
-Obama proposes greater Federal govt involvement in schools.
-McCain touts vouchers. He's for vouchers. McCain says that No Child Left Behind is a good idea if flawed. Wants reform of these programs notes Dems would not allow debate on the issues.
-Obama on vouchers... is against vouchers.
